I have a unique work history, having started my career in the legal industry – first as a paralegal, and then as a qualified lawyer. After 6 years in the profession, I decided it was time for a change and started seeking out new opportunities. I wanted to find a career that would be as challenging, interesting and rewarding as law, but also allow me to have a bit of fun and explore my creative side! This led me to a postgraduate qualification in media and communications and a career in marketing and communications. My most recent role was a marketing executive for one of Australia’s leading pharmacy retailers. The job was dynamic, creative and fast paced – all the things I had been looking for! My experience in the legal profession was invaluable and instilled in me a rigorous approach to problem solving, strong communication skills and proficient analytical skills. As a result of my legal training, I am commercially minded and able to think strategically. I bring a detail-oriented approach to all of my work and would describe myself as inquisitive, thorough and organised.
I was initially drawn to Transform for its excellent reputation! And after meeting the people that work here, I knew that this would be the right place for me. From the moment I walked in the door, the team were warm, friendly and welcoming and I instantly knew I wanted to be a part of it. I was also drawn to the variety of impressive clients as I work best in an environment where every day is different.
I am driven by challenge and thrive on change – as evidenced by my career change and recent move from Australia to the UK! I am passionate about learning and always looking for ways to expand my knowledge. I like to challenge myself to get out of my comfort zone – it’s the only way to grow!
The beach is my happy place. I grew up by the beach and love being near the sea any time of the year! At home I would try and go for an ocean swim every morning – even in winter (it’s like a free ice bath!). To paraphrase a Sylvia Plath quote – there must be quite a few things a dip in the ocean can’t cure, but I don’t know many of them! When I’m not at the beach, you will probably find me travelling, hiking, cooking for family and friends, reading, or watching something either extremely informative, or extremely trashy!
Coffee or tea? Coffee – I am a stereotypical Melbourne coffee snob!
Signature drink? A glass of pinot noir
Signature dish? Prawn pasta
Sweet or savoury? Savoury
Morning person or night owl? Morning person (so long as I’ve had a coffee!)
It’s your day off – where will we find you? If I were back home, you would find me reading a book at the beach or checking out a local farmers market! Since moving to the UK, I have really enjoyed exploring all the pretty villages, and local farm shops. If I’m not doing that, then you will probably find me at a Pilates class, or trying out new cafes and restaurants with my partner!
Star sign? Cancer
Favourite season? In Australia – spring (before it gets too hot!) but in the UK autumn is by far the winner
Favourite album, book, movie and TV show? Album: Back to Black by Amy Winehouse, Book: Everything I know About Love by Dolly Alderton, Movie: Romeo and Juliet by Baz Luhrmann, TV show: either a documentary or anything reality TV – the trashier the better!
What’s your pub quiz category? Pop culture
Favourite quote? “Only those who risk going too far, can possibly find out how far one can go” – TS Elliot
