Blog
April 2024
For Earth Day this year, we’ll be sharing our vision on how we can bridge the gap between environmental aspirations and tangible action. Read this blog to discover how our community engagement, business collaboration, and student projects are driving a sustainable future, to get you inspired and motivated for a more sustainable 2024.
We took to the streets of Bath to spread awareness about environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues. Our team, alongside Director and Co-Founder Daniel O'Connor, were engaging with the community to find out their level of understanding when it comes to ESG and Net Zero goals. Educating the public, one conversation at a time! *Watch our video below to hear the community's engaging responses
Transform hosted a forum specifically for large businesses in 2023. Our ESG consultants partnered with the University of Bath, Bath & North East Somerset Council, and the West of England Combined Authority. This presented a fresh opportunity for businesses to connect with like-minded organisations and propel their ESG initiatives forward.
The Large Business Forum featured a thought-provoking roundtable discussion, with key figures from academia, industry, and government, fostering a collaborative environment to brainstorm sustainability solutions.
Don't forget the importance of hands-on action! We were proud to have organised a successful community river clean-up event in 2023, but until the rivers are spotless, the job isn’t finished. We’ll be getting knee deep again in 2024, so join us as we work together to protect our local waterways and the wildlife that calls them home. It's a rewarding way to give back to the planet and a nice initiative to celebrate Earth Day. While a big clean easier with a team of people, individuals make a big difference too, so try your best to get out there and pick up some plastics.
We believe in the power of collective action to create real change. Throughout the year, we'll be hosting more events and initiatives to keep the conversation going and empower large businesses to take significant steps towards sustainability.
The ERA Network is a powerful new event, bringing together businesses, students, and academics in the Southwest of England.
This collaboration, spearheaded by Transform (a communications and digital marketing team who specialise in ESG consultancy), Action Net Zero (Transform ESG's partner company), and the University of Bath, aims to tackle the business challenges of achieving net-zero emissions.
The ERA Network serves as a platform for businesses to share knowledge, collaborate, and find sustainability solutions to reach their net-zero goals. By leveraging student projects and research alongside academic expertise from the University of Bath, the network empowers businesses to meet their ESG reporting requirements and contribute significantly to the region's overall net-zero targets. Additionally, the ERA Network's success could pave the way for similar initiatives across the nation.
The network fosters collaboration through regular meetings and events where businesses can openly discuss their net-zero challenges under the Chatham House Rule. The safe space allows for honest and productive conversations. Furthermore, the network facilitates student projects specifically designed to address real-world business challenges related to achieving net-zero. By connecting businesses with relevant academic experts, the ERA Network creates a win-win situation for all parties involved.
Businesses participating in the ERA Network gain valuable insights from shared experiences and sustainability solutions from their peers. Students get the unique opportunity to apply their knowledge to real-world problems, gaining invaluable practical experience. Businesses also benefit from fresh perspectives and innovative ideas from the next generation of students, interested in sustainability.
Connect with the ERA Network on LinkedIn to stay up-to-date on their latest initiatives, event announcements, and collaboration opportunities. Together, we can build a more sustainable future for the Southwest.
