Crafting an award-winning submission requires more than just filling out a form—it's about strategic planning, compelling storytelling and meticulous execution. Our top tips ensure that your submission stands out in a sea of industry rivals.
Award submissions are a fundamental element of any PR and marketing programme. They provide the opportunity to celebrate stand out work completed over the year by taking time and attention to evaluate.
Every business wants an accolade to call themselves an award-winning business – An award submission shows courage to jump out of your comfort zone to gain the chance to showcase your business.
Awards submissions are essentially crafting a hero piece of content that fuel future marketing collateral.
We've curated a list of different industry sectors that we have partnered with to create great results.

“We have worked with Transform for a number of years now. They are truly the best agency I have ever worked with.
They get into your business. They understand your needs. They get to know all the stakeholders. They work directly with people in each department across our business. It feels as if they’re part of PSI and we don’t know what we’d do without them.”

Identify relevant awards aligned with your industry and objectives. Gather necessary information and metrics to support your nomination. Customize your nomination for each award, highlighting unique achievements. Ensure your application is error-free and impactful. If you don’t have the time or copy writing skills in-house to complete an award nomination, consider getting some external support.
Awards validate your achievements and expertise — boosting credibility, reputation and brand awareness. Entering business awards sets you apart from your competitors by showcasing unique strengths and successes. Recognition boosts team morale and pride, fostering a positive work culture.
Participating in awards helps to benchmark your performance against industry standards and best practices. Winning awards serve as powerful marketing tools, opening doors to new partnerships and helping to reach a wider circle within your targeted audience.
Hook your audience from the beginning— kick off your award submission with an engaging lead, do not be afraid to show creativity. Tell a compelling story whilst weaving in the required information to suit the questions. Load up on metrics and evidence. Provide your audience with as much collateral to support your submission as possible. Make it easily readable for your audience, enough to allow them to communicate to others seamlessly.
Proof, Proof, Proof!
Ensure that your submission is read by multiple fresh pairs of eyes at different times to pick up on any small mistakes— it takes a team to craft a submission.
Give yourself plenty of time and schedule the awards entry in advance.
Structure the narrative to tell a compelling story and bring the nomination to life. Include trending topics in your industry. This might be AI and emerging technology) or ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance). Are there any challenges and pain points within your industry that you have successfully addressed? Can you bring those to your nomination? Compile the data, design supporting materials, proof your entry to eliminate any mistakes, and press the button.
Always check the application in the first instance through extensive research. Does the application ask rigorous, relevant questions with specific metrics? Is it clear and transparent as to what the panel/public are judging/measuring? If the application form doesn't rigorously examine that, then it's most likely not a particularly credible award. If you are considering adding award nominations to your marketing programme and you’re not sure which awards to go for, it can be helpful to get external advice.
This is a question we are frequently asked following an award win – and it's also a fun conversation to have! Choosing the right outfit for an awards ceremony is your chance to represent yourself and your brand in the best possible light. Take a moment to browse through photographs from previous years on the awards ceremony websites. This will give you a good idea of what attendees wore. It is important to make a good impression when promoting your brand, dress professionally and formal to suit the environment that you will be attending.
We're always up for a coffee and conversation.
